The Bicycles:

A. Rémy

Tandem

Réf.: V47

I found it in August 2000 in Malicornay, Indre, France. It belonged to the same family than the GNOME ET RHONE bicycle presented on another page.

The head badge has the motto of the mark: "The Small which is not afraid of the Bigs " and represents a cyclist winning a race against a train.

I don't have today any photograph of this tandem and I will add it, with the detail on the accessories, as soon as possible.

A Parisian family used it during the exodus of the second world war to flee Paris and to move into the family house of Malicornay in Indre. The tandem still has an electric lighting with the front lamp occulted by black painting except for a fine rectangle.

Later, the wheels had been dismounted and used to make a barrow or cart, certainly used in the fields.

This motto is clear. As this photograph shows it, extracted the catalogue 1933, the small shop of 144 Bd de Magenta in Paris is not afraid of the big manufacturers.
